A Dubbo man has been handed another conviction and jail sentence for his appalling treatment of a woman he had a whirlwind three-month romance with.
Dylan John Fieldsend, 34, pleaded guilty to charges of intimidation and using a carriage service to menace after police uncovered alarming details of the “toxic relationship” he was in.
In court documents police said Fieldsend had been in a relationship with a woman for three months when his phone was seized by officers investigating an unrelated matter on June 3, 2020.
While searching through the phone police found more than 3000 messages exchanged between the pair.
“Police viewed all these messages between the pair and could clearly identify a pattern of abuse and escalating violence,” police said in court documents.
“These messages clearly define the nature of the toxic and drug fuelled relationship between the pair.
“The pair would regularly call each other names such as ‘Parvo cross Mangy dawg’ and ‘putrid mutt’.”
In messages printed in court documents, Fieldsend said “well we are drug addicts, what do you expect our lives to be nice and rosey”to the woman.
“I’ll petrol bomb your house dog … I’ll burn your house down while your in it,” he said.
“I’m gonna smash all your shit up starting with your lounge.”
In another message printed in court documents, Fieldsend confessed to being a domestic violence offender and said he was too “scared” to change his behaviour.
“I’m weak c*** for punching you, I wish I could take it back … can’t you tell by the amount of times I’ve been to jail over domestic violence I want help and need help but am scared to seek it for real,” he said.
In another message Fieldsend described hurt which would be inflicted on the woman.
“Sly dog cut your wrist while hanging from the neck submerged in water you fat stretch marks dog,” it read.
Police said the ongoing abuse and threats left the woman fearing for her life.
In Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday Magistrate Greg Grogin convicted Fieldsend and imposed a four-month jail sentence which commenced on July 31, 2020 and expired on November 30, 2020 while Fieldsend was in custody for other matters.
He remains behind bars.
