SHE HAS been working out of community centres for a decade, but now Izumi Nago has a place of her own to support people with disabilities.
The Pennant Hills based musical therapist provides musical therapy for people of all ages living with a disability, and celebrated Do something Day with a drum circle class for her students.
“I have been supporting people with disabilities at Thornleigh community centre for the past ten years,” Ms Nago said. “The community centre has always had a very good reputation supporting residents across Thornleigh for many years.

“Now I am able to support the wider community with my own creative and performing arts centre.”
Ms Nago offers musical lessons, community art classes, dance classes and drum circles for both people living with a disability and without and is encouraging the wider community to join in on the fun at her studio — Musical Between.
“We started things off with just musical therapy classes for people living with a disability but now we have been able to expand our classes for everyone to join,” she said.
“We have around 60 people that come and join us on a weekly basis.”
Musical Between Inclusive Music Centre will hold an Open Day on August 5, with demonstrations, performances and free community activities.
