PANTHERS bright young star Nathan Cleary has kicked goals before but for DoSomething Day every goal was worth $10,000 to some high school kids who need it most.
Cleary’s successfully kicked $90,000 onto a cheque from Penrith Panthers to its outreach program Panthers on the Prowl.
Panthers general manager Phil Gould and expert golfer Kara Williams raised a further $60,000 between them by hitting holes-in-one at Aqua Golf in the early hours of the morning.
All the action was captured by Channel 9’s Today Show to promote Clubs NSW initiative DoSomething Day.

Brad Waugh who runs Panthers on the Prowl said DoSomething Day would create awareness about what the program is about.
“We do a lot of work in the community of children at risk of disengaging with education for a lot of reasons,” Mr Waugh said.
“Mainly it creates awareness of who we are and what we do.
“People get more interested in finding out about us and we get more people know about what we do the better it is for us in many respects.
“Everyone should do something every day not just today.”
Clubs NSW chief executive Anthony Ball said more than 50 clubs had been involved in this year’s initiative.
“From food drives and tree planting, to working bees and free brekky for emergency services, clubs have celebrated DoSomething Day in so many unique ways,” Mr Bell said.
“Panthers Penrith is another great example, presenting Panthers on the Prowl with $150,000 raised from their efforts today.
“There are more than 44,000 volunteers in NSW clubs who give up 1.6 million hours of their time each year, helping out and making a difference in people’s lives.”
