Miss Universe Australia Monika Radulovic has added her support to the DoSomething Day campaign.
The inaugural DoSomething Day will be held on Wednesday, June 15 and is a national event to celebrate volunteering in all its forms.
Launched by NewsLocal newspapers, the DoSomething charity and Your Local Club, it aims to encourage everybody to pitch in and do something positive in their community.
“It’s only a small thing but I like to bake things for my elderly neighbours,” Ms Radulovic said.
“I had one in particular where I used to live, her name is Maureen, and I’d visit her and just sit with her and listen to her stories and chat.”
It’s exactly the kind of community-minded initiative that DoSomething Day aims to celebrate.
Big or small, it doesn’t matter. As long as it improves the community or makes a positive difference to someone else’s life, we want to celebrate it.
It might be supporting a charity, picking up rubbish, helping a neighbour or simply buying someone a coffee.
During the 24-hour period on June 15 post your photos and videos with the hashtags #dosomethingday and #giveyourbest.
