Two men charged after man 52, was found dead in Surry Hills unit

Two men will face court today as police continue to investigate the discovery of a man’s body in a Surry Hills unit last week.

TWO men will face court today as police continue to investigate the discovery of a man’s body in a Surry Hills unit last week.

Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command found the 52-year-old male occupant dead in the unit on Clisdell St on January 2, after concerns were raised about his welfare.

A crime scene was established.

Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 42-year-old man at a unit on Morehead St, Redfern at around 9.35am and a 34-year-old man at a unit on Belvoir St, Surry Hills just before 8pm on Tuesday January 8.

The men were taken to Surry Hills Police Station where they were charged with aggravated robbery and deprive person of liberty, aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence-deprive liberty.

Both men were refused bail and are due to appear at Central Local Court today (Wednesday January 9).
