Police seek assistance after several sprayed in face with chemical
Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command are appealing for public assistance after several people were sprayed in the face with a chemical.

Surry Hills Police Area Command officers are appealing for public assistance after several people were sprayed in the face with a chemical.
The first incident took place outside a licenced premise near the intersection of Oxford and Crown St, Darlinghurst at around 1am today, where a man was arguing with a group of people.
Police were told the man threatened the group with a can, believed to contain a chemical.
Police were told that at about 1.30am, the man was involved in an altercation with a man and two women outside a licensed premise on Oxford St, Surry Hills.
The group were sprayed in the face with a chemical, before the man fled the scene.
Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command attended the scene and located two women and a man suffering irritation to their face and eyes.
They did not require further treatment.
A NSW Police spokesman said a bystander confronted the man, believed to be involved and removed the spray from him before handing it to security at a nearby venue.

Officers collected the spray, which they believe is a form of OC spray.
Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man.
He is described as being of caucasian appearance, with a slim to medium build and red spoked hair with shaved sides.
He was last seen running west along Oxford Street towards Crown Street, Surry Hills
