A Western Sydney rapper previously charged over an alleged gang rape of a woman is facing fresh charges alongside the two co-accused.
Emmanuel Amankwah, 31, also known as Manu Crooks, Weheliye Ahmed Keynan, 38, and Anwar Joseph, 28, have been charged with gang raping a woman following a night out in Kings Cross clubs and at house parties.
Court documents state the woman had gone clubbing with a group – which included the three alleged attackers in October, 2022.
All the parties left the club at 1.30am and briefly visited the Sofitel in Darling Harbour before they ended up at a reveller’s house party, the documents state.
At the party the woman allegedly woke up in a bedroom on top of Joseph while Amankwah and Keynan were in the room.
Police allege the woman was sexually assaulted.
They went to a second party before the woman’s father picked her up.
Two weeks later, she told staff at a clinic what had happened and reported the incident to police a year ago.
Fresh charges were laid on March 3 with Amankwah, from Lidcombe, charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and one count of sexual touching without consent.
Keynan, from Mays Hill, has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company.
Joseph, from Pyrmont, has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and three counts of sexual touching without consent.
The court heard the men were previously charged with aggravated sexual assault in company and inflicting actual bodily harm. These charges are set to be withdrawn.
The trio will remain on bail and their cases have been adjourned to May 5.
