Central Station brawl: Eighth man arrested, 21-year-old charged with affray

An eighth man has been charged as part of ongoing investigations into the massive brawl at Central Station where people were allegedly assaulted and flares were set off.

An eighth man been charged over the 30 person brawl involving flares at Central Station.

The fight broke out at the southern entrance of the station on Elizabeth Street about 10.50pm on February 8, with police told flares had been deployed and people assaulted.

Witnesses said the brawl involved 20-30 people believed to have been returning from the Sydney FC and the Western Sydney Wanderers A-League clash at Allianz Stadium.

The group left the scene before police arrived and no injuries were reported.

Following investigations under Strike Force Moonul, seven people have been charged and remain before the courts.

Police are appealing for information as they investigate a large brawl in Sydney’s CBD earlier this month.

On Thursday, detectives executed a search warrant at a property on Foxwood Rd, Silverdale and allegedly found a range of weapons including a replica gel blaster pistol, a replica gel blaster assault-style rifle, and seven other registered firearms and ammunition.

Police state the firearms belonged to a 50-year-old man living at the residence, whose licence was subsequently suspended.

Following further inquiries, a 21-year-old was arrested at Penrith Police Station and charged with affray.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on March 13.

A 17-year-old boy was dealt with under the Young Offenders Act in relation to the replica firearms.

The investigation continues.
