A young socialite could face a jail term if convicted after police laid an extra three charges against her.
Annabel Walker, 32, from Bowral, faced Wollongong Local Court at the weekend after she was slapped with three fresh charges including two counts of using a fake document to influence her exercise of public duty.
It comes after police allege the Frensham alumnus of sending police a “fake admission letter” to prove she checked in to South Coast Private Hospital.
Walker, who previously lived a lavish life in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, was also charged with an additional count of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
The police prosecutor made a fresh detention application in court yet her lawyer Michael Moussa argued the application had already been heard and dismissed at Downing Centre Local Court last month.
An email stating she was checked in to see a forensic psychiatrist Dr Olav Neilson was also tendered to the court.
Deputy registrar Cally D’Arcy granted her bail on the condition she stays between each of her parents’ homes in Bowral and Fitzroy Falls during the week while keeping to her 11pm to 6am curfew.
She was also ordered to continue her counselling appointments.
Speaking after court, senior lawyer Michael Moussa told NewsCorp, “The deputy registrar in her wisdom has made the correct decision in granting Ms Walker conditional bail.
“This is a case where Ms Walker’s conduct stems from underlying mental conditions.
“And it would be in the interest of Ms Walker and the community for her to have her assessment with her forensic psychiatrist.”
The new charges which Walker has not yet pleaded to will join up with her other matters at Downing Centre Local Court on September 9.
