A Woongarrah man has been charged over an assault which left a man suffering two skull fractures, a brain bleed and a perforated ear drum last month.
On Saturday, September 16, a 41-year-old man was at a sporting function at Waterboard Oval, Blackalls Park, when he was allegedly punched by another man.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
Lake Macquarie Police conducted an investigation and arrested a 37-year-old Woongarrah man on Wednesday.
He was charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm and granted conditional bail to appear at Toronto Local Court on October 24.
