A Wagstaffe mansion has broken records to become the Central Coast’s most expensive home.
Belle Property Central Coast Principal Cathy Baker has revealed that 6 Bulkara St, Wagstaffe – known as ‘Agave’ – has smashed the region’s current price record of $10.5m. It was sold by private treaty on February 11.
While the buyer and sale price are yet to be disclosed, the seven bedroom home with its own private beach has sold for more than $13.5m.
When it was last sold in 2020, the waterfront mansion broke the coast record for the highest selling property at $9.5m.
“It is an extraordinary time for the prestige property market on the Central Coast,” Mrs Baker said.
“Between the improved access of the NorthConnex and the flexible work arrangements off the back of the pandemic, the Coast has become a sought-after sea change for many Sydneysiders. “Investors and lifestyle buyers alike are seeing the benefits of investing in high-end homes. “They can enjoy the lucrative holiday home returns on offer and the impressive capital growth, as well as the chance to spend time out of the city while flexible work arrangements allow a lifestyle change.”
The 2190 sqm waterfront property in Wagstaffe, which had a guide of $13.5m, is described as a “Hamptons-style mansion” and was built by Construct Central Coast and designed by JPR Architects. It was named Australian House of the Year and best Custom-Built Home at the 2018 Housing Industry Association awards.
Features of the house include a walk-in cellar, gourmet kitchen with a butler’s pantry, infinity pool, high tech media room, custom-designed playground along with tropical gardens and a private boatshed retreat and mooring for a “superyacht”.
Ms Baker said the coast was still experiencing unprecedented sales with many luxurious homes exceeding the $10m mark. This has brought the region in line with Northern Beaches suburbs such as Palm Beach and Whale Beach.
“While there is increasing talk of a shift in the property market in the future, we’re still experiencing unprecedented market conditions across the luxury market due to the pandemic – premium properties are performing at an all-time high,” Mrs Baker said.
“With international borders opening and potential interest rate changes looming, these unique conditions won’t last forever.”
Mrs Baker is set to launch more premium properties in the coming weeks, tipped to sell for more than $10m. These include –
