Tributes flow for Emily Jane, 22, killed in horror crash on Woy Woy Rd

The young woman tragically killed in a horror three-car smash on Woy Woy Rd has been identified as a bright and bubbly 22-year-old who worked in her family’s cafe.

Tributes have begun flowing for Emily Jane, described as a “loving caring, funny and loyal daughter” who died yesterday after crossing onto the wrong side of the road and ploughing into an oncoming SUV.

The 22-year-old was driving a red Mazda hatchback south along Woy Woy Rd about 9.30am when it crossed to the opposite side of the road through a bend in the road.

Her car ploughed into a Lexus RX SUV before colliding with a Kia Carnival, driven by a 45-year-old man.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated Ms Jane for head and chest injuries before she was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

Tragically she died in hospital later yesterday afternoon.

The 45-year-old man was treated for chest and shoulder injuries and was taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene and the Crash Investigation Unit have commenced inquiries.

Meanwhile her grief stricken mother Lisa Flello has paid tribute to her daughter on social media while asking for the public to respect her family’s privacy at this time.

“I just need time to grieve alone,” she posted.

“Emily was the most amazing, loving caring, funny & loyal daughter any mother could wish for and more, we were together 24/7 where (sic) in body or FaceTime.

“She was my mini me, we both suffered from separation anxiety if we weren’t together.

“So thank you everyone for the beautiful messages, text & calls.

“Let’s all remember the fun & crazy times with got to spend with this beautiful soul.”

Ms Jane worked at her mum’s business Cafe Flello at Charmhaven.

Only last month her mum posted a photo of them together and commented how much she enjoyed working with her.

“When you get to hang out with your favourite human everyday, running the family cafe,” Ms Flello wrote.

“Emily Jane (heart emoji) family (heart emoji) blessed.”

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
