Champion of Champions title wraps up near perfect season for Avoca 14 years women
Avoca Sharks 14 years women are still on a high after being the only Central Coast team to win a grand final at the 2019 Football NSW Champion of Champions tournament.

The Avoca Sharks 14 years women have capped off an almost perfect year with victory in the Football NSW Champion of Champions grand final.
They scored 82 goals and conceded just six across a total of 25 games since the start of the Central Coast Football season back in April. Their only loss was a 1-0 defeat in an injury-shortened finals match.
Their statistics are all the more impressive given they didn’t have a goalkeeper when they started the year. That role was shared around, until Georgia Cameron took on the role late in the local competition season. She ended up taking out the club’s junior goalkeeper of the year award, as well as the coach’s award for her team.
“She never complained about going in goal; she has a really good attitude,” assistant coach Dave Sole said.
The Avoca side qualified for the Champion of Champions tournament after beating Woongarrah 3-0 in the local grand final. The Sharks went on to beat Ponds FC, AC United and Gladesville on their way to a 3-0 win over Avalon in the final.
Sole, who assisted coach Brad Mackie, was proud of how all of the players had improved across the season.
“They stepped up - especially in their maturity on the ball,” he said.
“They really gelled as a team.”
The girls will be presented to the crowd before the match between Central Coast Mariners and Adelaide United on November 16 at Central Coast Stadium in recognition of their achievements.
