An exclusive five-star hotel has been announced for Gosford and will be the first of its kind on the Central Coast.
The 167 room hotel, which will boast a “world class” roof top bar, will be located within The Archibald Development to be built on the corner of Donnison and Mann streets.
The ICC Development Group, who developed the Sofitel in Darling Harbour, has confirmed it will develop a luxury hotel to match Sydney’s Sofitel Darling Harbour and Barangaroo precincts.
The Archibald Development was recently hailed as “Gosford’s most significant transformation” and will include 300 apartments, a hotel, restaurants and shops.
The $400 million development will have two towers 25 and 26 storeys high, with construction expected to begin in April 2020 and take around 28 months.
The ICC Development Group chief executive officer and managing director Harold Dakin said the group wanted to open the doors of the five star hotel by Christmas 2022.
“We are currently undertaking a competitive tender process with identifying a five-star brand for The Archibald project and this will be decided very soon,” Mr Dakin said.
“We were initially positioning a 4-star brand however we believe the standard of a five-star offering is more consistent with the elegance and sophistication of The Archibald.
“We believe there is strong demand for a hotel of this calibre on the Central Coast and in Gosford specifically, with our ever growing strong population and Northconnex due for completion being a stone throws drive away ”
Mr Dakin confirmed the ICC Development Group is a major stakeholder in The Archibald development.
“We are looking forward to being part of the exciting transformation of Gosford over the next five years with a five star hotel on stage,” Mr Dakin said.
“The new five star brand will include a palatial foyer, conference and health facilities, a pool, restaurants and bars including a stunning roof top bar with unsurpassed views.
“The sky bar will be up there with the best in the world not just in Australia. We have an award-winning team ready to create a truly landmark destination for everyone to use.”
Jaimie Woodcock, from McGrath Projects Central Coast, said the extra facilities that come with a 5 star hotel are going to attract a lot of attention locally, nationally and internationally.
“The quality of bars, restaurants and proposed wellness centre brings a lifestyle experience on the coast like no other,” he said.
“This luxury offering will change the way people can live and visit as a destination on the
coast, it gives them options and choices never seen here before.”
The official launch date for the Archibald apartments is Saturday November 2, while the display suite will be open Monday to Saturdays at McGrath Projects Offices in West Gosford.
