After decades of low-rise development, the transformation of Gosford’s main street is set to continue with a $57 million tower development now proposed.
An updated development application has been lodged with Central Coast Council to build the 20-storey mixed commercial and residential tower — to be known as The Horizon Building — near the corner of Mann and Etna Streets.
The other Mann Street towers are Bonython Tower (13 storeys) which is almost finished; Waterside (up to 33 storeys in three towers) which is stalled over site clearing issues; and St Hilliers (six storeys) which is well underway.
The updated application replaces an initial DA lodged in 2016, after the purchase of an Adjoining property.
The proposal is for a 20-storey mixed use building with 184 residential units above nine commercial tenancies and basement parking.
Residents have until July 19 to make a submission on the plan.
The units will include a mixture of one, two and three bedroom layouts and four penthouse units.
Each apartment will have direct access to a private balcony or terrace, with each having an area of between 8m² to 28m². Residents will also have access to areas of landscaped communal open space.
The development is expected to be attractive to commuters — just 400m from the train station.
Developers propose a total of 265 carparking spaces including both commercial and residential spaces.
