One of the most unit-dense areas in Gosford could soon get even more residents if a new $90 million development is approved.
The development will have five low-rise towers and contain 299 units including one, two, three and four bedroom dwellings, although the bulk of units will be two bedrooms.
The proposal is to build the complex at 89 John Whiteway Drive in three stages starting with site work then followed by construction of three towers followed by a the final two.
The complex will include basement carparking and a pool. Total parking on the site will be for 623 cars, 128 bikes and 21 motorcycles.
The application will be decided by the Hunter Central Coast Joint Regional Planning Panel and residents have until July 19 to make a submission on the plans.
The development will be on the site of a former sandstone quarry and according to a visual impact statement prepared as part of the development application process, will be screened by existing trees.
The development application also says the 299 extra units will have only minimum impact on traffic flow despite between 800 and 900 vehicles trying to get from the area out to Henry Parry Drive during the morning peak hour.
