Killarney Vale: Boy, 8, critically injured in horror crash at corner of Mort St and George Evans Rd
UPDATE: The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has flown an eight-year-old boy to hospital with critical head injuries after a horror smash at Killarney Vale.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has flown a young boy to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition after a two-car crash at Killarney Vale.
NSW Ambulance inspector Phil Clark said paramedics treated the boy at the scene before he was flown to hospital in a critical condition with head injuries.
“This was quite a significant multi-vehicle accident that initially resulted in a young boy being trapped,” he said.
“NSW Police were able to extricate him. Local paramedic crews provided intensive care before an aeromedical team also arrived on scene via the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and the boy was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
“This is a very serious incident and we ask that you please drive safely on our roads. We send
our best wishes to the family of the young boy.”
The boy was a passenger in a sedan, whose female driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The female driver of the other vehicle, a black SUV, was uninjured. The woman aged in her 40s was taken to Gosford Hospital for mandatory testing.
Tuggerah Lakes Police established a crime scene that will be forensically examined by specialist police.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.

Paramedics have rendezvoused with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to treat a young boy seriously injured in a crash at Killarney Vale.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Mort St and George Evans Rd at 12.45pm on Wednesday following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
On arrival police and paramedics found a black Lexus SUV and a Toyota sedan had been involved in a T-bone collision.
A young boy was treated at the scene for some time before being taken to nearby EDSACC oval to meet up with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Mort St and the end of George Evans Rd were closed for some time with police and NSW Fire & Rescue in attendance.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said a second patient, an adult, had been taken to Gosford Hospital for treatment.
