Over $9000 worth of prizes and lollies will be up for grabs at The Entrance Fright Night this Halloween.
Volunteers have bagged $5500 worth of lollies for the safe trick or treat event on the night, while there is a hefty incentive for dressing in your scary best, with about $4000 worth of prizes are up for grabs.
Among the highlights is sure to be Grey’s Haunted House, which has been set up in the old Taylor Homestead in the town centre by locals Shane and Danielle Raics.

The Raics family have been scaring locals on Halloween for almost a decade, starting out at The Entrance, before operating in their front yard at Killarney Vale and then at Berkeley Vale Scout Hall last year.
The Raics have been working on the Fright Night event with The Entrance Chamber of Commerce vice president Balinda Katalinic and countless volunteers.
“I’m really appreciative of the opportunity to take my little bit of backyard fun and turn it into something that everyone can enjoy,” Mr Raics said.

Miss Katalinic was pleased to have the Raics’ on board for a community event she hoped would inject some life back into the town centre.
“I’ve been in the town a long time — my family have had the old carousel since the 70s,” she said. “I really wanted to initiate a project to reconnect with the local community.”

To take part in the safe trick or treat event people can pick up a map at one of the participating stores. They simply need to have the map stamped at every store and return it to the lolly bag pick up point to exchange it for their sugar fix.
The haunted house will be open for an accessibility session from 2pm to 3.30pm for those with special needs.
It will then be open from 4pm to 10pm in super-scary mode. A gold coin donation is required for entry, with funds raised going to Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
There will be entertainment from 2pm, with the trick or treat starting at 4pm.
The event received a $4000 grant from Central Coast Council, with the rest of the expenses covered by local businesses.
“It’s been fantastic to watch the community come together,” Miss Katalinic said.
