The company says it will introduce a new direction for luxury retirement living in the region.

Behind the walls of the gated community will be 58 purpose-built two and three-bedroom independent living apartments set in expansive gardens with Kincumba Mountain looming above.

If you can afford to buy — prices start at $650K — you will be able to enjoy a resort-style lodge, hairdressing salon, library, swimming pool, spa, gymnasium, bowls green and billiard table.

RetirementAustralia says the apartments have been purpose designed for people in later life and include high-end finishes, European appliances, and expansive balconies with full height glassed walls.

RetireAustralia Development Manager Bill Clydesdale said the stunning apartments, which are the next stage of expansion of the existing Wood Glen Retirement Village at Erina, were attracting plenty of interest from buyers looking for a premium coastal lifestyle.

“We are extremely proud of this exceptional project which is unlike anything seen before on the Coast, with world-class designs and expansive layouts that capture the Erina Valley views,” Mr Clydesdale said.

“The Rise is designed for seniors looking for a rewarding lifestyle without compromise, where they can live the life they’ve always dreamt about.

“These apartments offer secure, low-maintenance living full of life’s little luxuries while being close to our beautiful beaches, cafes, shopping and cinemas.”

Erina resident Rose Kilpatrick was the first person to register an expression of interest in an apartment at The Rise at Wood Glen and is looking to secure a top-floor residence.

Ms Kilpatrick said the strong community spirit and like-minded residents at Wood Glen were an important factor in her decision.

“Wood Glen is very relaxing and beautiful. It doesn’t feel like a retirement village, it feels like a resort,” Ms Kilpatrick said.

“These days retirees are very tech-savvy, we travel and we’re upwardly and outwardly mobile. We’re not dead yet, we’re very much alive!

“We want to live in a place that makes us feel welcome and safe, that has a peaceful lifestyle and calm environment.

“I find The Rise has all the advantages you have in owning your own home but without the ‘responsibilities’ — it’s perfect.”

Ms Kilpatrick said she also felt comforted in the knowledge that her future neighbours at Wood Glen would be all long-term residents.

Mr Clydesdale said the seamless indoor/outdoor living and northeast facing orientation, which allowed winter sunlight to stream in through the glass doors and windows, were other popular features with potential buyers.

The facility will be built in two stages.
