Dodgy truck speedo and GPS jammer located at Mt White heavy weighing station

A GPS jamming device and a modified speedometer that would prevent a prime mover from recording the kilometres it travelled was uncovered at Mt White today.

A GPS jamming device and a modified speedometer that would prevent a prime mover from recording the kilometres it travelled was uncovered during a joint compliance operation conducted at Mt White on Friday, May 3.

As a part of ongoing inquiries by the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Traffic Task Force and heavy vehicle inspectors from the Roads and Maritime Services, nine heavy vehicles were inspected at the M1 weighbridge.

A prime mover being driven by a 54-year-old Campbelltown man, was found to have a modified speedometer which would have stopped the vehicle’s odometer from working.

The 54-year-old was subject to random testing.
