A topless waitress who once boasted “I pretty much supply the whole Central Coast” with steroids and later told undercover police she and her beefcake beau were making “$50k a week” has avoided jail.

An ecstatic Nateesha Barlin, 24, left Gosford District Court this afternoon after a judge put her on an intensive corrections order (ICO) for 18 months, ordered she perform 300 hours community service and made her surrender $500 in surety to be of good behaviour.

An ICO is considered the equivalent of a full time custodial sentence but served in the community.

It comes after the same judge accused the gym junkie of making a “complete and utter mockery of the sentencing exercise” when she was recorded by undercover officers complaining about a new police bust a month after telling the court in a sworn affidavit she had turned her life around.

Barlin and Dylan Shaw, 25, were arrested on November 6, 2016, after Australian Border Force officers raided their rented granny flat home at Jilliby on the Central Coast.

In the previous six months, the ABF had intercepted 13,672 tablets, 11.2L of testosterone, 600ml of anabolic steroids and 20 vials of human growth hormone.

Barlin pleaded guilty to one count of importing testosterone and Shaw pleaded guilty to three charges of importing human growth hormone, anabolic steroids and the deemed supply of steroids.

In June last year Judge Michael Bozic ordered the pair be assessed for intensive corrections orders after finding he was satisfied they both showed regret, remorse and had strong prospects of rehabilitation.

However a month later Shaw was charged with conspiracy to supply drugs and goods in custody after he was arrested in July outside a Belmore restaurant in southwest Sydney with $179,000 cash in his car.

Barlin was also charged with concealing a serious offence with facts tendered to court revealing money used by undercover police officers to buy drugs was going into the bank accounts of her beauty therapist business.

The court heard she was also captured in phone taps saying in July last year: “It’s just annoying because what Dylan has going at the moment is really good.”

“He’s not doing anything he’s being smart about it.

“He’s moving about 2 kilos a week. We are making 50k a week.”

Referring to his decision in June last year, Judge Bozic said he had placed “100 per cent weight” on what Barlin had said in her affidavit.

“Now at some point it’s just not appropriate to continue this sentencing exercise in an air of utter naivete,” he told the court.

Judge Bozic sentenced Shaw last Friday to at least 11 months behind bars for his role in the “criminal enterprise” to import and distribute steroids, testosterone and human growth hormones.
