A bikie, considered Rebels royalty before he “patched over” to a rival gang, has admitted assaulting a man and trespassing at a Central Coast pub.

But the former heir apparent of Australia’s largest outlaw motorcycle gang has denied an intimidation charge.

Jesse Vella, who ended his association with the Rebels when he “patched over” to the rival Comanchero gang, faced Wyong Local Court on Monday, when he pleaded guilty to common assault and trespassing but not guilty to intimidation.

Vella’s bail was continued and his case was adjourned for a hearing in July next year.

The Berkeley Vale resident’s appearance comes after police from the state’s bikie-busting Raptor Squad received a report a 40-year-old man had allegedly been spat on and intimidated at Chittaway Bay Tavern on June 8.

Following investigations, Raptor Squad officers conducted a search at a home in Berkeley Vale on June 13, when they located and seized a number of items and an electronic device.

Officers arrested Vella at the home and took him to Wyong Police Station, where he was charged and released on conditional bail.

Charge sheets tendered in court allege the 38-year-old intimidated and assaulted a man at the pub about 8.55pm and entered the premises without the consent of the manager.

Vella is the nephew of Alex Vella, the millionaire founder of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang, and was once considered Rebels royalty.

Vella reaffirmed his commitment to the Rebels at his father’s funeral in Sydney in January 2022, when he read a poem before signing off with “RFFR” (Rebels forever, forever Rebels).

Vella’s father, Gino Vella, was a longstanding office bearer of the gang.

However, within six months, Vella had patched over to the rival Comanchero gang.

He posed for a photo, later posted to social media, with then-national president Allan Meehan in July 2022.
