A man has been formally charged with buggery and indecent assault in the ACT Magistrates Court.
Willem Bowen Scheeren is facing two counts of buggery and two counts of indecent assault of a male.
Mr Scheeren did not appear at court during the brief first hearing of the matter.
His lawyer told the court Mr Scheeren was not required to attend because it was a summons matter.
The lawyer entered not guilty pleas to all charges and asked for a ten week adjournment.
The details of the charges against Mr Scheeren were not read out in open court.
Magistrate Ian Tenby set May 24 for a pre-hearing mention.
