A former Canberra office worker and “well known supplier” has been jailed for dealing drugs to the town of Queanbeyan.

Samara Willetts told her family she loved them in Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday after pleading guilty to running a small drug dealing operation in regional New South Wales.

The court heard the 32-year-old Mawson woman came into the crosshairs of police after a raid on her Queanbeyan home on April 6, 2022.

In the agreed statement of facts, police say they entered Willetts’ room which was secured by a security lock with fingerprint recognition, along with a second password encrypted locking mechanic.

Inside her room detectives numerous tick books with names and amounts were found in Willetts’ possession along with drug items such as bongs, scales and grinders, more than a dozen prescription tablets, two rounds of ammunition and $595 police say were profits from drug dealing.

Police say an analysis of the Mawson woman’s phone uncovered multiple supplies of meth and weed on varying dates between February and April 2022.

The court heard Willetts supplied up to 25g of meth in that period.

Willetts defence team said the 32-year-old had a difficult upbringing and had slipped into drug use after promising years in the workforce, where she was employed as an office worker while working in a veterinary nurse traineeship.

The court was told Willetts had been involved in violent relationships previously but had cut contact with bad influences and had stopped using drugs.

Magistrate Roger Clisdell said the Mawson woman’s involvement in the drug trade became more apparent following her arrest, with police filing more charges after the raid.

Mr Clisdell said it was clear the 32-year-old was in it for a profit, “feeding the Queanbeyan market” while being a “well known supplier” for regular drug users.

Willetts pleaded guilty to nine charges including three counts of supplying drugs, recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime and two of possessing prescribed restricted substances.

She was jailed for 14 months, with a non-parole period of seven months.

Willetts will be eligible for parole on August 29, 2023.

Convictions were recorded.

“I love you,” Willetts said to her family as she was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs.
