A 13-year-old boy has faced the ACT Children’s Court charged with the joint commission murder of 48 year old Phillip resident Glenn Walewicz.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was formally charged with joint commission murder and attempted aggravated burglary by Magistrate Jane Campbell on Thursday.
He was accompanied by his mother and stepmother in the court.
The boy is the fifth person charged in relation to Mr Walewicz’s killing and the third person charged with murder over the incident.
On Saturday Baradine, NSW, man Gary Taylor, 24, faced the ACT Magistrates court charged with joint commission murder.
He was arrested by NSW Police on June 9 and was extradited to the ACT.
Earlier this month an 18-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was the first person charged with murder in relation to Mr Walewicz’s killing.
In addition to the three people charged with murder over the case, two people have been charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact.
Holt local Nicole Williams, 38, faced court on June 7 charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.
Dunlop man Reatile Ncube faced court on June 4 charged with being an accessory to murder after the fact.
Mr Walewicz was shot dead with a single bullet outside his Phillip townhouse on June 10 2021.
ACT Policing Detective Inspector Mark Steel previously described the case as a “real whodunit” telling members of the press it wasn’t clear if Mr Walewicz knew the people charged over his death.
