A woman who allegedly had $7000 worth of meth in her handbag when she handed herself in to police has been released on bail.
Karabar, NSW, woman Aroha Hicks handed herself in to the City Police Station on Saturday after failing to appear at ACT Magistrates Court on March 1.
Police allege they found 7.9 grams of a crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine in her handbag when she was taken into custody.
She was charged with possessing a drug of dependence and failing to appear. She did not enter any pleas.
After spending two nights behind bars, Ms Hicks appeared at the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday via audiovisual link from the Alexander Maconochie Centre.
Magistrate Robert Cook told the court Ms Hicks was facing earlier charges of driving a motor vehicle without consent, aiding and abetting theft, joint commission obtaining property by deception and theft.
Ms Hicks has not entered any pleas to those earlier charges.
Mr Cook said police alleged Ms Hicks aided a co-defendant in stealing $3000 worth of property.
He said in relation to her theft charge, police alleged she had stolen over $7200 worth of goods from Cash Converters in Philip.
Prosecutors did not oppose bail and she was ultimately released with the condition she does not contact her co-accused or be in the suburb of Fyshwick.
She will return to court on April 3 to enter pleas.
