A man and baby fell victim to an alleged hit and run at a famous NSW monument over the long weekend, with investigations by the Hume Police District continuing.
A NSW Police spokeswoman confirmed that just after 3.30pm on Monday, police were called to the Big Merino on Hume Street, Goulburn, following reports a male pedestrian had been hit by a silver car.
They were also told the man, aged 36, was holding an infant at the time.
The driver reportedly struck the pedestrian twice and allegedly failed to stop and render assistance.
NSW paramedics attended the scene and treated the man for minor grazing. He did not require further treatment.
The baby was not injured in the incident.
Officers attached to The Hume Police District have commenced inquiries and anyone with information, including witnesses, are urged to call Goulburn Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
