What to do if you think a child is being abused

A young man has been charged with 11 child sex abuse offences, including grooming two teenage girls and supplying them with alcohol so he could sexually assault them.

Police allege Drew Singleton, 19, used a carriage service to groom a 14-year-old girl for unlawful sexual activity between August 2021 and January this year.

According to police, Singleton engaged in conduct which exposed two 14-year-old girls to indecent material in an attempt to make it easier to procure sexual activity with the minors.

Police allege the Moss Vale man also illegally supplied the two underage teens with alcohol between January 15 and 16. According to police, Singleton got the girls drunk and then carried out sexual acts on them.

Police claim Singleton had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl three times between August 2021 and January this year. According to police, he also sexually touched the girl during that same period.

Police allege all of the offences took place in Moss Vale.

Singleton was arrested just before 8am on January 25 by the Child Abuse Unit South West Metro. He is currently in custody on remand.

The court heard the Director of Public Prosecutions would take charge of the matter.

Singleton will return to Moss Vale Local Court on March 1 to make an application for bail.
