A Coles warehouse worker has admitted going on a $10,000 booze stealing spree at a string of Coles-owned liquor stores across north-west Sydney.

Thomas Robert Campbell, 34, faced Mt Druitt Local Court today and pleaded guilty to 10 counts of larceny at Liquorland, BWS and Mr Liquor stores.

Police say Campbell and a male co-accused stole up to $10,000 worth of alcohol from liquor stores in Rouse Hill, Parramatta, North Rocks, Winston Hills, Westmead, Wentworthville, Summer Hill, Burwood and Drummoyne between January 25 and February 11.

The Lalor Park man has admitted to distracting staff at the stores while the co-accused allegedly loaded boxes and bottles of whisky, vodka, champagne and bourbon into a trolley and fled the store without paying.

On February 11, Campbell stole 60 bottles of Smirnoff vodka, worth almost $3000, from a Liquorland store at Rouse Hill Town Centre.

At another Liquorland store in North Rocks, Campbell stole 12 bottles of Taittinger champagne, worth more than $2000.

On January 11, it’s alleged the men stole three bottles of Hennessy whiskey and four bottles of Patron Tequila from a Drummoyne store by throwing the boxes to each other from the second storey of the premises onto the street.

According to police documents, Campbell went on the stealing spree to support his heroin habit.

Campbell was arrested on Tuesday during a traffic stop on Delaney St, Doonside.

Court documents showed he was wanted in relation to the alleged domestic-related assault of a woman in Lalor Park earlier that morning.

He has pleaded not guilty to one count of common assault and another of contravening an AVO.

He did not apply for bail during a brief appearance at Mt Druitt Local Court today.

He is expected to be sentenced for the theft matters at Blacktown Local Court on May 25.

His co-accused will face court at a later date.
