Some of Sydney’s best known restaurant brands are coming to Rooty Hill.
The team behind China Doll will open their first western Sydney venue at West HQ named Chu by China Doll.
Restaurateur Steve Anastasiou, who runs China Doll and China Lane, will open the new restaurant in the upcoming $10 million West HQ dining precinct.
“As a sister restaurant, Chu by China Doll will echo the pan-Asian flavours of both China Doll and China Lane, while introducing some unique dishes created especially for the west, made with the highest quality ingredients and freshest local produce,” Anastasiou said.
Former China Lane head chef Ben Haywood will lead the 200-seat restaurant.
“Dumplings made fresh daily, Chinese roast meats, locally sourced seafood, aroma, zing and a smattering of signature dishes from our restaurants in the city are just some of the offerings we will bring to the west, along with a few surprises of course,” he said.
“A hand selected wine list will be created to complement the menu and like our much-loved sister restaurants, everything will be designed for sharing and enjoying.”
Chu by China Doll will not be the only well-known brand joining the dining precinct; other big names announced include Stefano Manfredi’s PizzAperta and Steak & Oyster Co by Sean Connolly.
Chu By China Doll is expected to open in September ahead of the December opening of the $100 million performing arts centre next door.
The 2000-seat theatre, which launched as the Western Sydney Performing Arts Centre, has been renamed to the Sydney Coliseum Theatre.
Once completed, the theatre will be equipped to host full-scale Broadway musicals, symphony orchestras, ballet performances and live music.
The theatre was first announced in 2017 and headline acts for the opening season are expected to be announced in June.
