A police officer is facing charges related to an alleged sexual assault and accessing restricted data.
In a statement, NSW Police Media said that in November, officers started investigating accusations of a sexual assault which is alleged to have occurred in 2019.
The allegations were referred to the police’s Professional Standards Command.
Following the investigation, a probationary constable aged 22, was arrested on Wednesday and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.
The officer was charged with two counts of sexual assault and 10 counts of unauthorised access to restricted data.
He was granted conditional bail and is next due to appear before Mt Druitt Local Court on January 9, 2023.
The 22-year-old officer was a probationary constable who worked in the North West Metropolitan Region.
He has now been dismissed from his duties as a police officer.
