A muscled-up influencer has made a desperate plea to loosen up his bail conditions after he was charged over an alleged assault at a Sydney music festival.
On Wednesday Hossein Balapour, 33, known as “Yakiboy” to his 354,000 online followers, pleaded not guilty to a string of charges at Hornsby Local Court.
Balapour is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, stalking or intimidating someone, having goods suspected of being stolen and reckless grievous bodily harm.
Police will allege Balapour assaulted and intimidated someone at Ryde this August.
The 33-year-old is also charged with allegedly having stolen goods – $31,750 in cash – at his Rosebery home and causing grievous bodily harm to someone at the Knockout music festival in October.
On Wednesday, Balapour’s lawyer attempted to have the curfew condition removed as the bodybuilder awaits his trial.
The court heard the curfew is causing Balapour, who works as a personal trainer as well as on OnlyFans and as an Instagram influencer, to lose clients.
The defence also said Balapour’s wife needs medical treatment and he has a young family who wanted to travel over the Christmas holiday period.
But Magistrate Alexander Mijovich said there was no reason he should alter the bodybuilder’s bail conditions.
“One of the only reasons he got bail was because of this curfew,” Mr Mijovich said.
Balapour’s matter was adjourned to February 13, 2023.
The influencer has gained cult following online and previously made headlines when he posted a nude photograph with only a cartoon pizza slice covering his nether regions.
