Plumpton man Paleso'o Simon charged with drug supply after Raptor Squad bust

A man charged with supplying cocaine and MDMA has appeared in court following a raid by a NSW Police raptor squad on two western Sydney homes.

A Sydney man who allegedly supplied MDMA and cocaine will remain in the community on bail after he was arrested during raids by NSW Police’s elite raptor squad.

Paleso'o Simon, 28, of Plumpton, appeared in Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday charged with two counts of supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, and one count of supplying a prohibited plant.

In December 2022, officers attached to the State Crime Command’s raptor squad – targeting OMCGs and any associated criminal enterprises, commenced an investigation into alleged drug supply in Sydney’s west.

Following investigations, police searched two homes in Marsden Park and at Plumpton where Simon was arrested about 6am on January 12.

During the search warrant, police allegedly located and seized 89 capsules of MDMA, 15g of cocaine, and 193g of cannabis leaf.

Police documents tendered to court show officers also allegedly located a further two luxury watches, gold jewellery, cocaine, cannabis, MDMA, about $50,000 cash, and electronic devices during the raids. Another two men were arrested following the operation before being taken to Blacktown Police Station.

Crew Paleso'o, 27, was charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime, knowingly directing activities of a criminal group, and recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime.

Keanan Vilianu Pao Carroll, 29, was charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime, and participating in a criminal group while contributing criminal activity.

Both men refused bail at Blacktown Local Court on January 13.

They will reappear before the same court on January 24.

Simon will reappear before Blacktown Local Court on February 8.

On Wednesday, Simon’s lawyer requested three weeks for instructions to be finalised in relation to the charges.

Documents tendered to court reveal he has a limited criminal history, with only one prior minor property offence.

While on bail, Simon must report to police daily and has been barred from accessing a mobile phone or encrypted communication apps such as WhatsApp and Snapchat.
