UPDATE
The legal fate of two young female drug runners who ferried cocaine to buyers across Sydney’s affluent suburbs has been put on hold due to one of the dealers falling ill.

Merram Mekhael, 22, of Mt Druitt, and Abi Robinson, 20, of Liverpool were to be sentenced on Friday for the ongoing supply of cocaine early last year.

The duo pleaded guilty to ongoing drug supply last December.

The sentence did not take place, however, as Mekhael’s lawyer applied for an adjournment and told the court his client was ill and provided a medical certificate.

Robinson, who arrived at court with two supporters, was visibly frustrated when she learned in court that the sentence was to be delayed.

Judge Nicole Noman adjourned both matters as she wished to sentence both women together.

She also raised concerns the drug dealers appeared to blame the other for their criminal behaviour in court-ordered reports.

The women will be sentenced later this month.

Ms Mekhael was released on bail during a mention at Central Local Court on April 27 on the condition she live at her parents’ western Sydney address.

As part of her strict bail conditions, she will have to abide by a 9pm curfew and is banned from entering any licenced premises and drinking alcohol.

She is also prohibited from taking illicit drugs and was ordered to undergo drug rehabilitation.

At her first court appearance in March, the prosecution alleged Ms Mekhael had been a “drug runner” and dropped off cocaine to customers in Bondi, Coogee, Manly Vale and Elizabeth Bay.

Ms Mekhael and a female co-accused were allegedly caught with 40 bags of cocaine and $3000 cash when police pulled over their car in Elizabeth Bay on February 27.

The court heard she had previously been convicted of drug supply and was on parole at the time of her arrest.

She was also on bail at the time for charges relating to the alleged possession of 14 MDMA pills.

She will face Central Local Court for charge certification on August 4, where the Crown prosecutor is expected to confirm which charges it will pursue through the courts.

She is yet to enter a plea to the charges.
