Man charged after alleged assault of five police officers in Rooty Hill

A man who allegedly assaulted five police officers in Rooty Hill at the weekend has faced court.
Eric Anthony Taco, 23, appeared at Mt Druitt Local Court yesterday on 10 charges after he allegedly became involved in a scuffle with police on Eastern Rd around midnight on Saturday, September 28.
Police allege Mr Taco assaulted four male officers and one female officer when they were canvassing the area after an earlier, unrelated police chase.
It’s alleged police stopped to speak with the man when he became aggressive and violent towards them.
According to police documents, it’s alleged two officers were injured and another’s shirt was ripped in the incident.
Mr Taco faces a string of charges, including assaulting police in the execution of their duties, assaulting police and causing actual bodily harm and damaging property.
He was given bail to face Mt Druitt Local Court again on November 11.
