A man and woman have been charged following a siege yesterday afternoon at a house in Marana St, Blacktown.
The man allegedly was armed with a knife in the garage of the house and there was a woman with him. Police officers arrived at the house just after 2.30pm and attempted to speak to the man. Police secured the perimeter and had the assistance of Police negotiators and Tactical operations unit. The 33-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were arrested about 4.45pm.
They were both taken to Blacktown Police Station where the man was charged with using a weapon and assaulting police. He was refused bail and will appear in court today.
The woman was charged with hindering police. She was given conditional bail and will appear in court later this month.
