A western Sydney man with a Swastika neck tattoo, who punched another man for urinating at a crowded bus stop, told police he “just snapped”.

Emerton’s Ryan Felton, 34, faced Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday and was sentenced to 10-months imprisonment for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Documents tendered to the court state on August 16 2024, Felton was with his daughter at the bus interchange in Mt Druitt.

Felton, who documents describe as having had “82 interactions with the police” for multiple offences, noticed a man at the bus stop pulling down his pants.

The man exposed his genitalia and began urinating in public, which at the time was “a very high traffic area with multiple kids in the vicinity”, according to court facts.

Felton approached the man to ask him to stop, however the man laughed in Felton’s face.

Felton became aggressive and punched the man in the face and head before fleeing the scene.

The man was knocked down to the ground, sustaining injuries to his left eyebrow and left upper lip.

He was later taken to Nepean Hospital for further medical treatment.

Police officers patrolling nearby were alerted to the incident and began investigating.

Felton returned to the scene and told police that he had “just snapped”.

He was arrested and taken to the Mt Druitt Police Station, where he admitted to the assault and told the officers he “threw a jab”.

In court on Wednesday, Magistrate James Gibson told the court there had been “a degree of provocation”.

“There is never any excuse to take the law into ones hands under any circumstances,” Mr Gibson said.

Felton was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment, with a non-parole period of four months and will be eligible for parole on April 19.

Mr Gibson warned Felton he needed to “think before he uses violence”.
