Eastern Creek ‘love triangle’ murder accused, Sosiua Tonga denied bail
A man charged with the murder of another man at a home in Eastern Creek yesterday has been refused bail.

A Greenacre man charged with murdering another man at an Eastern Creek home in an alleged dispute over a woman will remain behind bars.
Sosiua Tonga, 34, appeared at Mt Druitt Local Court today via audiovisual link after he allegedly assaulted Filipino national Juan Miguel Cerrantes, 34, with a screwdriver on Sunday.
A woman claiming to be the wife of Mr Tonga, smiled and waved to the media after Mr Tonga’s court appearance as she was driven away in a car.
Police allege Mr Tonga attacked Cerrantes when he was at the Cable Pl home with a woman, Astrid Muller, at about 12.30am on August 11.
Cerrantes suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Police are now investigating the relationship the relationship between Mr Tonga, Mr Cerrantes and Ms Muller and a possible love triangle.
Mr Tonga’s defence solicitor did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
He is expected to face court again on October 9.
