Doonside hit and run: Man charged with ‘deliberately’ running man over
Police say a man was “deliberately” mowed down in Doonside on Saturday and left with serious injuries.

A man will face court today after allegedly mowing down a man in Doonside at the weekend.
Police allege the 34-year-old driver targeted the 41-year-old pedestrian in a blue Holden Commodore when he ploughed into him on Saturday at 3pm.
It’s alleged the man was driving on Birdwood Ave when he struck the other man with his car, knocking him to the ground and leaving him with injuries to his head, legs, back and ribs.
He allegedly drove from the scene before witnesses contacted police.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Police say the men had a verbal argument earlier in the day.
Just after 10.30pm on Monday, the driver attended Blacktown Police Station.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, causing bodily harm by misconduct while in charge of a motor vehicle, driving a vehicle under influence of drugs, failing to stop and assist after impact causing injury, and not give particulars to and injured person.
He was refused bail to face Blacktown Local Court today.
