A proposal to build a round-the-clock, five-storey hotel has been submitted to Blacktown Council.
The $29 million development from Marsden Park Developments Pty Ltd would involve the construction of 24-hour hotel, with more than 120 rooms, at the corner of Hawthorne Ave and Darling St, in the heart of Sydney Business Park in Marsden Park.
According to plans tendered to the council, the development would sit next to The Marsden, a $45 million hotel and craft brewery set to open next month.
The hotel will include a ground-floor foyer and guest space that will join onto a landscaped communal space, along with hotel rooms, a gym and back-of-house facilities.
Each floor will have up to 28 guests rooms and suites.
The design has been described as “elegant and modular”.
If approved, the hotel would be within walking distance of the Marsden Park train station.
“The site sits to the south of the new Marsden Park Station and within the priority urban renewal precinct that will include retail, commercial, residential and civic uses within a walkable catchment to the train station,” planning documents show.
The hotel would be located at the centre of Sydney Business Park, near big box retailers such as IKEA, Bunnings and Costo, restaurants and the Marsden Park residential development.
Marsden Park Developments Pty Ltd is the developer of the $2.9 billion business park, which is reported to be the largest employment zone in the north west of Sydney.
