A woman has been fined after police allegedly caught her riding along in the car of a food delivery driver in Sydney’s West.
At about midday on Saturday, police stopped a car in Quakers Hill and spoke to the driver, a food delivery driver, and his female passenger about their movements.
The driver told police he was employed to make food deliveries, however, his front-seat passenger, a 33-year-old Toongabbie woman, said she went along for a ride because she was “bored being at home”.
The woman was one of 18 people across the state to receive a Penalty Infringement Notice for allegedly breaching the Public Health Act between Friday and Saturday.
The infringements carry on-the-spot fines of $1000 for individuals and $5000 for businesses found in contravention of COVID-19 new health orders.
