Firefighters provided immediate medical first response to the men aged in their 30s, who suffered lacerations from the collapse.

The crews then established an exclusion zone around the construction site to ensure the structural safety of the rest of the building.

NSW Ambulance treated the men for injuries and the site has now been handed over to Safe Work Australia to investigate the incident.

Fire and Rescue NSW Acting Superintendent Tim Hassiotis said: “This is a timely reminder that calling triple-0 for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.”
