Police are investigating a “high speed” crash in Sydney’s west on Friday night, which left a girl with serious injuries and needing to be cut free from the wreckage.
Emergency services were called to Carlisle Ave in Colyton, between Roper Rd and Kippist Ave, about 10.30pm on Friday to reports of a crash between a Toyota Corolla and a Suzuki Swift, which had left three people trapped.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said one of those people was a 12-year-old girl who suffered head injuries and was rushed to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition.
The man driving the car, which the young girl was in, suffered internal injuries while the driver of the other car – a woman – suffered a broken leg. Both were taken to Westmead Hospital in stable conditions.
The spokeswoman described the crash as “high speed”.
A NSW Police spokesperson said the two cars had collided head on.
LiveTraffic NSW stated the road was closed in both directions after the crash, but was reopened just before 4am on Saturday morning.
The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are now investigating the circumstances of the crash.
Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
