Shocking new details have emerged in a case involving a western Sydney man who has admitted to sexually abusing infants and using them to produce child abuse material.

Marayong man Bryan Michael Grange, 38, was living just streets away from a primary school when he downloaded tens of thousands of videos and images of child sexual abuse from an online paid child abuse subscription service, similar to Netflix.

Court documents accessed exclusively by the Blacktown Advocate reveal Grange was a subscriber of the website which offered access to 600,000 images and 400 hours of mostly child abuse material to a network of almost 1000 global users.

Grange came under notice by US Homeland Security after investigators tracked down the payment details of some of the site’s subscribers.

He was arrested in October 2019 following a tip-off to the Australian Federal Police, who raided his suburban home and uncovered a stash of child abuse material stored on laptops, data storage devices and DVDS.

Court documents show detectives seized seven electronic devices from Grange’s home, some hidden in a storage area under the house along with 19 child abuse material DVDs stored in a plastic tub.

During his subscription to the site, Grange purchased 59 encrypted data packages containing child abuse material, paying more than $7000 for the material, between December 2014 and 2017.

Grange also sent child pornography videos and images to people via email as attachments.

Police uncovered Grange purchased more than 31,500 child abuse material images and 325 videos from the site, amounting to more than 27 hours worth of material.

Further investigation into his seized laptop revealed more than 11,500 images and more than 550 videos of child abuse material, with police stating only five per cent of the total material on the computer was able to be reviewed.

Grange had stored more than 7400 images and 1680 child pornography videos on a second laptop, with only a small amount of the material able to be reviewed.

A computer search uncovered a further 5366 abusive images and almost 370 videos, while Grange’s DVD collection included more than 27,000 images and 63 videos of child exploitation.

Police said several of the videos involved hour-long videos of pre-pubescent children in ‘pageant’ settings.

Further investigations of the material uncovered that Grange had indecently assaulted an infant girl and used her to produce child sex abuse material.

Grange has also admitted to raping two other infant girls and using them to create similar material.

He initially faced more than 70 charges after police laid dozens of additional charges last year.

A quiet and reserved Grange appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday via video-link, with his defence lawyer formally entering guilty pleas to 43 charges after the Crown Prosecutor withdrew the remaining charges.

Grange has pleaded guilty to having sex with a child under 10, using a child under 14 to create child pornography, indecently assaulting a child under 16, possessing child abuse material, using a carriage service to access child pornography and using a carriage service to transmit child pornography.

He faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted.

Grange will be formally arraigned at the Sydney District Court in February, where a sentencing date is expected to be set.
