A MAN has been charged after an alleged home invasion at Doonside yesterday.
Police allege two men — brandishing a firearm and a knife — broke into a house at Oldaker St about 4pm.
They demanded property from a 44-year-old female resident.
Blacktown police were alerted and, after a short chase, arrested one of the men and secured the firearm for forensic analysis.
Patrols were made for the second man who was not located.
A 19-year-old man was charged with several offences including:
● Special aggravated break and enter;
● Possess shortened firearm;
● Possess ammunition without permit;
● Possess loaded firearm in public place; and
● Possess unregistered firearm.
He was refused bail to appear before Blacktown Court today. Investigations are continuing.
