WOODCROFT

A COUPLE in their 60s became victims of an alleged aggravated break and enter in Jindabyne Cres on Saturday about 5.30am. Police said the couple told them they were in a bedroom when a man wielding a hammer threatened them and stole a mobile phone, a small amount of cash and other items. Police searched the scene with the dog unit and found a 29-year-old man in the front yard of a nearby home. The man was charged with aggravated break, enter and committing an indictable offence. He was refused bail and is due to front Parramatta Bail Court on Thursday.

KINGS LANGLEY

A 17-year-old boy was charged after cannabis and MDMA powder were allegedly found in a car at Edna Place on Saturday. Police seized drugs about 1.10am after stopping a Honda Civic with four youths parked on the street. Police allege the 17-year-old youth threw a bottle out the window when officers approached him. A police search of the car allegedly uncovered several resealable bags containing what is believed to be MDMA powder and a bag containing cannabis. They also seized a mobile phone, scales, cash and more bags, which were seized for forensic examination. The youth was taken to Riverstone police station where he was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, goods in custody suspected of being stolen and hindering a police investigation. He was given conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on September 15.

DOONSIDE

A YOUTH was charged with intimidating police after officers responded to calls of an alleged fight on Saturday at 12.30am. Police were patrolling Scintilla Grove when they saw a 17-year-old allegedly raising his fists to police. Police restrained the boy and he allegedly continued to threaten them. He was subsequently charged with intimidating police, resisting police in execution of duty and offensive behaviour. He will appear at Parramatta Children’s Court on Thursday, August 25.

KINGS LANGLEY

A MATTRESS caught fire at a house at Gathrey Cres on Saturday shortly before midnight. A man in his 40s and a woman in her 60s had already left the house by the time fire crews from Blacktown and Baulkham Hills arrived at the scene. The fire was contained by 12.30am.

SEVEN HILLS

A MAN who allegedly stole a man’s wallet from Prospect Highway was charged on Sunday. Police said a 30-year-old Merrylands man left a bus when a 48-year-old Penrith man approached him and allegedly asked for money before escaping with his wallet. Police said they found the man after a search at First Ave, Seven Hills, and he was charged with stealing from a person. He will front Blacktown Court on September 1.

UP TO $1000 cash and food was stolen from Glenwood Community Hub’s cafe on Monday. Police said thieves broke in via the front door between 3pm on Sunday and 7.55am on Monday. Police said entry was gained by forcing a door open.

A Riverstone man, 43, has been charged with possession of an illegal drug after police stopped him at Railway Rd last Wednesday at 8.20pm. He allegedly had 29 grams of cannabis in the car and will appear at Blacktown Court on September 5.

THIEVES removed  $5000 from one account to another after they broke into a home at Cowper Circuit and used a computer on Tuesday August 2, between 8am and 2.30pm.

A MAN with a tyre iron threatened McDonald’s staff while they unloaded supplies from a truck on Saturday at 5.30am. The offender threatened to hit an 18-year-old worker when he raised the weapon in the air. The employees stepped back and the man returned to his car, a Holden wagon, and fled the Abbott Rd store. He was described as caucasian, 25 years old, 175cm tall and thin. Police are hunting the man and have called for the public to help them.
