A Sydney real estate agent embarked on a seven-month campaign of harassment towards her ex-boyfriend, which came to a head when she assaulted him at a popular pub.

A Sydney real estate agent and former private school girl tipped a drink on her ex and kneed him in the testicles at a pub in an alarming crescendo to months of harassment against him.

Ainslee Cardillo, 20, had been dating her former boyfriend for 18 months when the relationship ended in June 2020.

From that day forward, a court heard Cardillo embarked on a relentless harassment campaign against her ex, attempting to communicate with him through Instagram, notes on bank transfers, and by standing on his front lawn and yelling at him.

“Some of the texts included ‘if I find out you touched a girl I’ll f**king ruin everything’, and ‘I warned you I did way worse than message Luke, you will f**king see’,” police facts tendered to Sutherland Local Court state.

“(Another message read) ‘burn in hell I f**king hate you, you are dead to me, I will be at your work tomorrow and if you touch anyone at Alexia’s I will destroy you, do I make myself clear you f***ing rat’.”

The court heard Cardillo’s ex continually blocked new Instagram accounts she made in efforts to continue contacting him, before she turned to transferring him money with descriptions reading ‘I need you, I love you, talk to me please”, yelling at him from his front lawn and throwing items at his front door.

Seven months of harassment culminated in a dramatic incident where Cardillo confronted her ex at Northies in Cronulla on February 12 this year.

“The accused, using her left hand, poured a drink over the head and back of the victim,” police facts state.

“The accused...attempted to grab an additional drink to throw at the victim, but another person took hold of it, preventing the accused from grabbing it.”

Thwarted, Cardillo resorted to violence.

“The victim stepped back from the table, attempting to distance himself,” police facts state.

“The accused stepped forward...and using her left leg kneed the victim in the groin, striking his testicles and causing immediate pain and discomfort.”

On the day the matter was headed for hearing Cardillo pleaded guilty to one count of stalking and intimidation and one count of common assault.

Magistrate Philip Stewart described the pair’s relationship as “clearly toxic”, citing incidents where Cardillo’s ex allegedly called her offensive names.

“You’re a young woman, you’re 20 years old,” Mr Stewart said.

“You’ve got plenty of good life ahead of you but not every relationship works out well.”

Mr Stewart sentenced Cardillo to a nine-month conditional release order with no convictions and she is forbidden to contact, stalk, assault, intimidate, threaten or harass her ex under the terms of a two-year apprehended violence order.
