For the first time the show was held virtually on Friday.

There were plenty of ways Centralians could get involved in the show, despite there being no physical event, including photography, cupcake decorating and pet rock competitions.

Earlier this year Alice Springs Show acting president Murray MacLeod said while the show had been a celebration of the “best of our community through competition, gathering together and celebrating our pastoral heritage”, coronavirus had made it impossible to plan.

“Advice from the Australian Government is very clear and the potential risks to our community from COVID-19 are unacceptable,” he said.
