THE sixth round of the myDarwin voucher scheme has been completely spent, with the $200,000 funding pool lasting less than 108 hours after launching at 12.01am on Wednesday.

THE sixth round of the myDarwin voucher scheme has been completely spent, with the $200,000 funding pool lasting less than 108 hours after launching at 12.01am on Wednesday.
The pool, which ran out about 11.20am today was the final scheduled round of the myDarwin program jointly funded by Darwin Council and the NT government, though City of Darwin Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis has previously said the system could be reinstated if needed.

“Should the need arise again, Darwin council will not slip down, we will not let businesses slip down, we can reintroduce it very quickly,” he said.
Fishing and Outdoor World’s Ronald Voukolos said the voucher scheme had brought a massive uptick in customers through the store’s doors.
“You do notice it … I had to have a full stock of staff on the myDarwin days,” he said.

“Fingers crossed they can find some more money and do another one of these in the next tourist season or next Christmas or whenever, it’s a good one.”
