13-storey ‘sustainable’ Crystalbrook Collection hotel worth $130m to be built in Adelaide’s CBD

A luxe new 13-storey hotel boasting a unique style set to be built in the heart of the Adelaide CBD will create dozens of new jobs.

A new luxury $130m hotel will be built in one of Adelaide CBD’s most popular streets.

The 13-storey hotel, owned by the Samaras Group and managed by Crystalbrook Collection, is set to open in 2026 with a total of 200 rooms.

Crystalbrook Sam, located at 15 Halifax St, will be completed with communal spaces, a restaurant and bar with stunning views of Adelaide and a unique rooftop Eleme Spa and Bath House.

The hotel will offer 120 new jobs to South Australians.

Chief executive officer of Crystalbrook collection Geoff York said the hotel will embrace the local area.

“Crystalbrook Sam will celebrate the spirit of the local area and community, engaging guests with its own unique style and sophistication,” he said.

“I am confident the hotel will become an integral part of Adelaide’s hospitality scene.”

Managing director of the Samaras Group, Chris Samaras said he was excited to unveil their first hotel development.

“(It) will be a work-class, luxury destination offering locals and visitors unique experiences that celebrate the best of what Adelaide and South Australia has to offer.”

Owner of Crystalbrook Collection Ghassan Aboud said this hotel would be the eighth of its kind to open in the Australian market.

“We are delighted to expand our footprint into South Australia, delivering a new style of luxury, innovation and sustainably-led hospitality to the state,” he said.

Construction of the hotel is expected to start later this year.
